December 9, 2023: Run, Forrest, Run! Siesta Key Beach, the #1 Beach in the USA, plays host to the 47th Annual Sandy Claws Beach Run. The 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is presented by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome for the one-mile or 5K fun runs and encouraged to participate in the holiday-themed costume contest. Registration starts at 7 a.m. The one-mile fun run will start at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K run at 8:20 a.m. This event is sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club.
